The Purchase Price of your Property…

When purchasing a property in France be aware of the price of the property and the fees attached to the process. The buying and selling of property for quick gain does not happen in France and this is common throughout France so do not expect to be able to haggle down the price and sell shortly after for a huge profit and do not forget the high fees attached to a property price.

Agent’s Fees

These can vary depending on the price of the property. The Vendor and Agent agree a price the seller will receive and the fees of the agent are added on afterwards – the fees are calculated on a sliding scale depending on the value of the property. Once the fees have been calculated the sale price of the property is established - this is known as the F.A.I price. It is on this price that the Notaire’s fees and the government taxes are calculated.

You will need to consider the agent's fees as well as the notaire's fees, insurance and taxation laws when purchasing your property in France. This is where we can help and guide you.

We have varying scales of service (see tariffs for more details) but for the full service we charge a fee of 2500 Euro (excluding tax). This includes the search, visits, assistance through the purchase process, settling you in to your new property and a friendly face or voice in the early years of your new life in France.
